Who we are
Farm Workshop is a free website with maintenance schedules, known problems and service records for tractors, quads, UTVs, telehandlers and implements. It is run by the person who owns this website. Contact: [contact details to follow].
What we keep
There are no accounts, and you never need to give your name or email address. The machines you add, their service history, the jobs you tick off, your fuel log, any photos you add and your settings (such as light or dark mode) are saved in your own browser so they are there when you return. They are not sent to us.
A backup, a service record and a calendar file are made in your browser and saved straight to your own device; nothing passes through our website. A backup contains your machines, history, fuel log and photos, so keep it somewhere private.
To let the site open with no signal, your browser keeps a copy of its pages and files. This is like a normal browser cache and holds nothing about you.
AI diagnosis
When you ask for a diagnosis, what you type, any photos you add and the details of the machine you choose (its make, model, hours and service history) are sent to our website and passed to Cloudflare Workers AI, which writes the answer. They are used only to answer you: we do not keep your description, photos or the answer. Do not include personal details, such as your name or number plate, in the text or photos.
To share the free daily allowance fairly, the site counts how many diagnoses each visitor asks for. It does this with a scrambled code made from your internet address, not the address itself, and the count is deleted automatically after two days.
Number plate lookup
If your machine is road-registered and you use "Look up the plate" when adding it, the registration you type is sent to our website and passed to the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and the DVSA MOT history service. They return the public record for that vehicle, such as its make, year, colour, tax status, any outstanding recall and, where it has one, its MOT history. These fill in the form and are saved with your machine in your own browser, where you can update or delete them. We do not keep the registration or the details returned. A scrambled code made from your internet address counts lookups to prevent misuse, and it is deleted automatically after two days.
Links to other websites
Part searches and source links open other websites, such as a search engine, parts sellers and makers' pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies. Nothing about you is passed to them by us, beyond what your browser sends when you follow a link.
Services the site loads from
The site is hosted by Cloudflare and loads its fonts from Google Fonts. Like any website that loads from other places, they can see your internet address and which page you are looking at.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies of its own, shows no adverts and sells nothing about you.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what information is held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Because your machines and history are kept in your own browser, you can delete them yourself at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
